Alfred Edward Whittington, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Watson, LA Thursday, October 3, 2024. Alfred made a career as a machinist for many years before eventually retiring from Honeywell. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He had a passion for helping the less fortunate and founded the Dinner Bell Club, which helped to feed needy families on Thanksgiving Day. Alfred actively participated in the United Way Campaign, March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanities, Cancer walks and the special Olympics. He loved being surrounded by his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He participated in many local parades and you could always find him checking out every garage sale he passed. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son; Todd Whittington (Lisa), grandchildren; Carlie Whittington, Brock Whittington (fiancee, Laura), and Morgan Johnson (Lane), as well as his great-grandchild; June Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents; Susan Ida Whittington and Robert Whittington, and brothers; Clyde Whittington, Earl Whittington, JP Whittington and Robert Whittington, Jr.
Visitation will be held a Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, October 9, from 5 p.m. until service at 7 p.m with Navy Military Honors to follow. Please share your condolences at www.sealefuneral.com.
