Altemus Joseph “A.J.” Tullier Jr. of Walker, Louisiana passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. A.J. was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and graduated from Istrouma High School. After high school, A.J. served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ticonderoga. After completing his enlistment, A.J. returned to Baton Rouge where he became an electrician. Ultimately, retiring from East Jordan Iron Works.
In 1963, A.J. married the love of his life, Joyce, who bore him four knuckleheads, who never let them have a dull moment and made A.J. second-guess himself every time he loaned them his vehicle. In 1976, they moved to Walker where A.J. became very active with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 158. During his 40+ years as a scoutmaster, A.J. helped mold the lives of numerous young men.
Although A.J. had many titles such as husband, father, scoutmaster and friend; his favorite title was Pawpaw. A.J. was blessed with the privilege of raising his oldest grandson, Jonathan. Through the years, A.J. loved spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also had a special bond with his great granddaughter Serenity.
A.J. is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce, his sons Jay, Darren and Brandon and grandchildren Lauren, Derek, Shaun, Donald, April, Jonathan, Kelley, Emma, Grayson, Brittany, Brianna, Austen and Dariyn and numerous great grandchildren.
A.J. was proceded in death by his parents Iris and Altemus Joseph Tullier Sr., adopted mother Rosalie Tullier, his loving daughter Diana Tullier, his brothers Leroy Tullier and Jimmy Tullier and his sisters Anna Cormier, Yvonne Dixon, Leola Davis and Ruby Hartley.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 AM until service begins at 12:00 PM. Burial with Navy Honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Please share your condolences at www.sealfuneral.com.
