Alton Elmore Delatte

Alton Elmore Delatte, a lifelong resident of Denham Springs, born on December 9, 1926 and passed away August 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He proudly served in the United States Marines. He then went on to work and retire from Exxon Mobil after 38 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed his garden, raised cattle, fished and shrimped with his wife and grandchildren, and showed horses with his daughters. He was a devout Christian and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. He could think of no other joy than spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite day of the week is Sunday where he had “Sunday Suppers” with his family.

Alton is survived by his daughters, Connie and Kenneth White, and Wanda and Dale Johnson; grandchildren, Craig and Shelly Bossom, Chad and Danielle Bossom, Laura and Will Landry, Charlotte Tierney, Dustin and Jordan Johnson, Derrick and April Johnson, David Johnson, and Christy Johnson; great grandchildren, Dylan, Damon, and Wyatt Bossom, Noah Johnson, Brooklyn Bossom, Corinne and Grace Murphy, William Landry, Landon and Chandler Tierney and Krew Johnson.

Alton is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Willie Mae Causey Delatte; parents, John and Virginia Bennett Delatte; brothers, John, Wickliff, James, Ellis, Forrest, and Bernard Delatte; sisters, Angeline Hooper, Lillie Paline, Elsie Harris, Nettie Felder, Stella Dugas, Bertha Crowder, Ethel Reeves, Louella Cook, Adrienne Schaffet, and Mary Tyler.

Special thanks to his caregiver, Mrs. Ann Cunningham who attended him with such love and kindness and was a great strength and blessing to his family.

Carrying him to his final resting place will be Craig Bossom, Chad Bossom, Will Landry, Dustin Johnson, Dylan Bossom, Damon Bossom, and Noah Johnson

Honorary pallbearers will be Brooklyn Bossom, Wyatt Bossom, and William Landry.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Seale Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until Funeral Service at 11:00 AM conducted by Brother Colin McClendon. Graveside service and burial will be held at Felders Cemetery in Denham Springs.
