A Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Proud Veteran, and Generous Heart
Bernard Youngblood, a cherished resident of Walker, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in his sleep, leaving behind a legacy of selfless service, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family and community. Known affectionately to those who loved him as Boo, Pop, and TJ, Bernard was a man whose kindness, warmth, and constant consideration for others touched countless lives.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Bernard graduated from Marksville High School. Driven by a sense of duty and devotion to his country, he was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army. His passion for helping others continued throughout his life, as evidenced by his dedicated volunteer work with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and the Baton Rouge Women's Pregnancy Crisis Center. Bernard was a steadfast supporter of U.S. and World Missionaries, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Louisiana State Trooper Association. He truly lived a life centered on supporting those around him and standing up for causes close to his heart. Demonstrating his lifelong spirit of giving back, even in his passing he continues to make a difference through organ donation.
Above all his accomplishments, Bernard’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, an extraordinary father, and an amazing grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jan Youngblood; his daughters, Angie Stackpole (along with her husband, Ted), Faith Youngblood, and Melissa Youngblood (along with her partner, Jason); his 15 cherished grandchildren; and his 7 adored great-grandchildren.
Bernard's gentle spirit, infectious generosity, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his impact will live on in the hearts of his family and the community he served so faithfully.
He was preceded by his parents, William Youngblood and Pauline Champagne, sister Deborah Ann Youngblood, and brother Mark Youngblood “Peanut”.
His memorial will be held Friday October 30th, visitation from 10 a.m. until service at 12 p.m., at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 South Range Ave. Denham Springs, La 70726.
