Bernita Mcguire Johnson

Bernita McGuire Johnson, a native of Gibson, Louisiana, and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was born February 28, 1945, to the late Mary and Clarence McGuire, Sr. She departed this life on October 5, 2024 at 9:28 p.m. at Baton Rouge General Medical Center (Bluebonnet) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Gibson, Louisiana. Bernita was educated in the Terrebonne Parish School System where she graduated from Southdown High School. She leaves to cherish: LaToya (Jason) Johnson of Denham Springs, LA, Darren (Bertha) Johnson of Gray, La and Deon Johnson of Gibson, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Janay Belcher, Tocara Stadium, Deontra Johnson, Zaire Johnson, Ahmyri Johnson, and Xavior Allen; 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Brenda Bonnet of Baton Rouge, LA, Patricia (Alvin) Jones of Morgan City, LA, Sylvia McGuire and Rosetta Watson both of Houma, La; one brother, Paul McGuire of Houma, LA; godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family. Bernita was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary McGuire; two sons, Lenist Johnson Jr. and LeVar Johnson; three sisters, Mildred Jenkins, Paulette Randall, and Rose Mary Singleton; three brothers, Claude McGuire, James McGuire, and Clarence McGuire, Jr. A memorial visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Saturday, October 19, 2024 beginning at 11:00am. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm.
