"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ”
Romans 8:28
Blake Daniel Posey, started his race here on earth on April 11th, 2007. He fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished his race here, on October 13, 2026.
To know Blake was to love him, and he loved all, but only liked a few. He loved Jesus, dogs and cars. His Papa was his best bud and most of their days were spent together. He loved to go, go, go, the faster the better! He loved fast cars and pretty girls, driving his RC car, gaming, collecting hot wheels, going to the movies, listening to music, his family, and his church family at True Light Baptist Church. At 8 years old, Blake trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at VBS, and never doubted Him or His plan.
Blake leaves behind his loving family, who all sacrificially and joyfully loved and cared for him, his Papa and Mama, Barry and Brandi Posey, his siblings Brandon, Bear and Brelynn Posey and Haley McCord. He was loved and adored by his grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, church family, and many friends who were like family.
Blake was preceded in death by his great granny, his mawmaw and his good friend, Bro Elwin, and many other he loved greatly.
As most of you know, Blake was born with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy, but he never let the disease define him. DMD is a rare, slow and sad disease, but Blake lived through it fearlessly and lived boldly. The Posey family would like to express their gratitude to the excellent Medical Care and hospitality from Manning Children's Hospital New Orleans and Brianna Mayo at Pediatrics at Juban.
In honor of Blake, please wear your favorite car themed shirt or your favorite shade of blue to the visitation service on Wednesday night.
"What is grief, if not love persevering?"
Visitation will be at Seale Funeral home on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5pm-8pm. His celebration of life will be held at True Light Baptist Church on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11am, with viewing from 10am-11am.
As the family navigates this difficult time, in lieu of flowers, anyone who feels led to contribute toward funeral expenses is welcome to do so. Every gesture of love and support is deeply appreciated.
