Carolyn Bourque Jackson, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2026. She was born on January 14, 1944, to Melvin and Erlene Bourque. She was a lifelong resident of Watson, Louisiana, and a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
Carolyn completed business school and worked for the state several years before her most cherished role of mother and homemaker, although she continued helping in the family bookkeeping business for many years.
Carolyn’s faith in God was evident in the way she lived her life. She loved helping people, and will always be remembered for her sweet spirit, her kindness, and good cooking. She loved her family with her whole heart and always put others’ needs and wants before her own.
She was an inspiration to those who knew her and was known for her strength and determination, especially as she battled Parkinson’s Disease for 26 years, as well as Dementia and other health issues in the later years.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy Jerry Jackson; daughter, Donna Jackson; son, John Jackson; four grandchildren, Christina (Elliott) Rodrigue, Dave, Damian, and Shayla Jackson; four great grandchildren, Liam, Sawyer, Isaac, and Kaleb; sister, Linda Tarver, brothers, Melvin (Kathy) and Darryl (Pansy); and numerous other family members who will cherish her memory.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Lisa, Deborah, and Betty, who lovingly cared for her in her time of need during her hardest years. Thanks also to the Audubon Hospice staff for their help and support during this time.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. Mike Craig. Burial will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Long before Carolyn knew she would endure a lengthy physical battle, God inspired her to write these words in a song:
“When life is over and your race is run,
Will the Father say, ‘welcome home, my son,’
Battles are over and victory is won,
Life’s day is ended, eternity’s begun.”
While we grieve her absence, we rejoice that her battle is over and she is in her heavenly home.
Seale Funeral Service was entrusted with final arrangements and care.
