Listen to Obituary

Cary Edwin Harper was born on April 22, 1944, to Curtis Harper, Sr. and Eunice Strother Harper, in Bunkie, Louisiana. Cary was proceeded in death by both of his parents, his wife Joyce Harper and his only daughter, Laura Harper.

Cary, known as “Butch” to those who knew and loved him, is survived by his older brother, Curtis Harper, Jr.; his niece, Amy Harper Little and her husband Tim Little, along with a great niece, Presley Little; and Cary’s other niece, Amanda Harper Enright and her husband, Ryan Enright, along with another great niece, Harper Enright, and a great nephew, Jack Enright. Numerous cousins and friends, along with extended family who are left to mourn his loss and remember innumerable times of love and laughter because of Butch’s jokes, stories, and “pranks”. Other than being the life of the party, one of Butch’s greatest loves was fishing with his daddy and brother. So many stories will be told repeatedly about on fishing trip or another, all with Butch at the center of the storyline.

The loss of Butch is greater than we want to bear, but the love and memories will never die and knowing he is with his Heavenly Father and not hurting anymore is the best solace we can hope for. He is reunited with all who proceeded him and somewhere in heaven there is a story being told and laughter abounding. We will see him again, one fine day!
