Charles Scott Theriot, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026 at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 17, 1932 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Charles Scott and Martha Jane Theriot. He lived a remarkable 94 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mattie Ruth Myers, and his mother-in-law, Emma Swan.

Charles is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Swan Theriot, his sister-in-law, Martha Swan, nieces who knew him as "Uncle Cotton", Laura Jean Myers-Ross (Steve), Linda Kay Myers, and Bonnie Jane Peterson and his great nieces and nephews, Rebekah Kinsella (Dan), Christine van der Meer (Nic), Paul Peterson (Daniela), and Charles Ross. He was also very proud of his great-great nieces and nephews, Jocelyn, Arjen, and Easton.

Charles grew up in North Baton Rouge in an area known as "Dixie" in a shot-gun house and graduated from Istrouma High School in 1950. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he returned to Baton Rouge and worked in a beauty school and later in the real estate business. He was known and loved by many and enjoyed entertaining others with his stories about growing up in Dixie.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Monday September 21, 2026 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will take place at 1:30 PM at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary, Louisiana.
