Cheri Lyne Smith passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 52. Cheri was born on September 10, 1973, in Pontiac, Michigan. She graduated from Holden High School and went on to earn a Master’s degree in speech pathology, a field in which she made a significant impact on the lives of numerous individuals.
Cheri's passion for her career was matched only by her love for her family and friends. She was the cherished wife of Cecil Smith and a devoted mother to her children, Carissa Guillory and Cade Smith. Cheri took great joy in being a grandmother to Iris and Hudson Guillory.
Throughout her life, Cheri had many hobbies and interests. She loved going shopping and then going home to immerse herself in the pages of a good book. Traveling was one of her greatest joys and she embraced every opportunity she got to explore new places. Her eye for design shone through in her talent for decorating her home, creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who visited. Cheri was also an enthusiastic supporter of LSU football and never missed watching a game. She found strength and comfort in her faith, often studying her Bible and devoting time to prayer. Cheri's legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Cheri is survived by her loving husband Cecil Smith, her mother Theresa Evans, her children Carissa Guillory(Blaine) and Cade Smith, and her grandchildren Iris and Hudson Guillory. She is also remembered fondly by her sister Debi Davis (Troy), her brother-in-law Brock Smith (Adrianne), her father-in-law Johnnie Smith, her mother-in-law Delilah Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
