Cheryl Sullivan passed away early Wednesday morning after a courageous battle. She was the most resilient person we have ever known; despite battling cancer multiple times, she never let life’s challenges break her. She met every obstacle with a quiet, tireless strength.
She lived by a powerful belief: that there is always a way. She proved this every day, whether she was fixing a garbage disposal when others had given up on it or using her steady hands and endless patience to untangle an impossible knot in a broken necklace. While she wasn’t one for words or hugs, her love was a language of action—spoken through the amazing meals she cooked and the way she gave the little she had to ensure those she loved were cared for.
She spent her life fixing things for those she loved while facing battles that would have broken anyone else. We will find our way forward by following her example: rolling up our sleeves and taking care of each other.
She is survived by her two children, Paula (Derek) Sinkular and Ryan Sullivan (Barbi Burgess); her seven grandchildren, Kaley, Jeremiah, Ashton, Jean-Paul, Kennedy, Airyanna, and Laila; her mother, Lillian Hubert; her three siblings Paul (Cheryl Ann) Sullivan, Linda (Tommy) Lawrence, and Joanne (Ricky) Landry; twelve nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Mandy, Chad, Paul Jr., Jody, Lance, Joanie, Dobie, Jonathon, Sumar, Zachary, and Tabitha. She was preceded in death by her father, Reggie Sullivan Jr. and her two sisters, Debbie Evans and Roxanne Arnold.
A special thanks to the nurses and sitters at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center for all of your efforts.
