Christene Hood

January 13, 1967 – August 21-2023

While she may have arrived late for almost every Earthly appointment, everyone can agree she arrived too early for her Heavenly one. It is with great sadness that the family of Christene Bayhi Hood announces her passing at the age of 56 on Monday, August 21, 2023, after a courageous 22-month battle with breast cancer. Born in New Orleans, La on Friday the 13th of January 1967, Christene moved with her family to Denham Springs, La at the age of two where she resided for the remainder of her life. She will be forever missed by her loving husband of 37 years David “Bo” Hood; her daughter Courtney Dillon and husband Joseph; son Hunter Hood and fiancée Macee Rainey; mother-in-law Laura “Aline” Hood; and granddaughters Mikayla and Demi Dillon – the true loves her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Denise Bayhi Spillman and husband Louis, Shelley Bayhi Mack and husband Timmy, Warren “Bubba” Bayhi Jr. and wife Laura; sister-in-law Vicki Hood; best friend and soulmate of 38 years, Judy Kimbel Hergruder; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Christene is preceded in death by her mother Jo Ann Curry Bayhi and father Warren Bayhi Sr; father-in-law Ernest “EJ” Hood; and nephew Trevon Spillman. Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2023 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumes Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. until services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Warren “Bubba” Bayhi, Jr., Joseph Dillon, Timothy Mack, Louis Spillman, Michael McLin and Roy Bayhi, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Hunter Hood, Timothy Fernandez, Jacob Overhultz, and Matthew “Ray” Bergeron.
