Christopher Robin Gilmore, age 53, of Walker, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1972, in Baton Rouge.

He is survived by his loving parents, Carolyn and Thomas Gilmore; children, Jessica Margaret Dampier and Crystal Rogers; grandchildren, Zowie Miller, Charlie Navarre, and Lyla Rogers. He is also survived by his brother, Jeffery T. Gilmore; and many extended family members and friends, including Maggie and Damien Kimble, Jennifer Austin McCrea, Theodore Jolie, Jeremy Martinez, Gabe Wolber, Jason Harvey, Sterling Thorn, Pershing Leforet, and Danny Silver.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Christopher was a life long learner whose curiosity and passion for knowledge shaped every aspect of his life. A graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he went on to earn various technical degrees that helped build a successful career in the metallurgy industry, ultimately serving as a respected plant manager. Known for his intelligence, dedication, and problem-solving abilities, he took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.

Beyond professional accomplishments, Chris was a talented musician who found joy in music and sharing it with others. He had a deep appreciation for computers, science, astronomy, and the wonders of the natural world. An avid traveler, he enjoyed exploring new places and seeing the scenery that came with it. He will be remembered for his inquisitive mind, gentle spirit, and the enthusiasm with which he embraced life and learning.

The family would like to expend a special thank you to Damien and Maggie Kimble and Jennifer Austin McCrea, who were tireless in their kindness, to the family of his lung donor, and to Ochsner in New Orleans for their care.
