Clem Carmen Steele, 91, of Walker, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He worked for many years as a Maintenance Operator with Exxon Plastics before retiring. Clem was a long-time member of Satsuma Baptist Church as well as Baker First Baptist Church. He loved to be outside hunting and fishing and watching any sport, including auto racing. He worked for 30+ years as a ticket taker at multiple LSU sporting events. Clem was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Helen Byrd Steele; parents, Thomas Barney Steele and Velia Freeman Steele; and his siblings, Ada Lee Huff, Birdie Brown, Wonzie Jackson, Audrey Bass, Lucien Steele, Lloyd Steele, Adrian Steele, and Raybon Steele.
Clem is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Derrick Crockford; son and daughter-in-law, Michael T Sr. and Lori Steele; grandchildren, Jacob Roeling (Lauren), Carrie Laney (B.J.), Michael T. Steele Jr (Emily), Abrielle Steele, Camden Steele, and Ainsley Steele; great-grandchildren, Callie Wright, Camille Roeling, and Adley Laney; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Friday, January 2, 2026 for a visitation starting at 10:30 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Graveside service to follow at Satsuma Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael T Steele Jr, Camden Steele, Dale Matthew, BJ Laney, Jacob Roeling, and Shawn Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Bryson, Ed Sullivan and Charles Parker.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Woodleigh of Baton Rouge and the Hospice of Baton Rouge, as well as their family and friends who have been there for them through this difficult journey.
