Colleen Faye Collett Rogers, 87, of Ventress, Louisiana, passed away on September 12, 2026. She was born on December 6, 1938, to William and Sadie Collett in Onawa, Iowa where she spent her childhood.

Connie loved her family deeply. She also loved cooking, LSU football, and history, particularly the World Wars and the part her own family played in them. She could happily spend hours talking about history and the stories that connected her family to it.
Her kitchen was one of the ways she loved people best. Connie joyfully fed anyone who showed up and gave to others freely and enthusiastically. From that kitchen came better crawfish étouffée and cherry pie than the world has ever seen. She drank her coffee black with exactly a quarter teaspoon of sugar, and there was always a pot brewing. Anyone who stepped through her door could expect to be fed, handed a cup of coffee, and made to feel as though they were coming home.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sadie Collett; her son, Morris Richard Rogers; and her siblings Clifford, Gertrude, Harriett, Paul, William, Ruth, Robert, Raymond, Richard, Mary, Donald, Max, James, and Glena.

She is survived by her children, Kimberelee Rogers Barker, Rachelle, Robert Jr., Cynthia, and William; her sister, Alice; her grandchildren, John Meche III and his wife, Charlee; Brandon Barker and his wife, Kristine; Anna Barker and her husband, Cody; and her adopted granddaughter Donna Lashawn Batten and her husband, Larry; and her great-grandchildren, Amelie, Judah, Ezra, Marigny, Evelina, and Elliot Meche; Penelope, Olive, Bastian, and Argyle Barker; and Emmett and Saylor Laws.

She will be cremated, with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
