Cora Lee Gordon of Walker, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family.
She was one of five children born to Clarence Rudolph and Evelyn Nadine Marine Ziegler, on January 9, 1945, in Champagne, Illinois.
Cora enjoyed gardening, especially growing vegetables, cooking for her family, and firing up the grill. She was an avid reader who favored romance and fantasy novels. She enjoyed being a softball mom and family tailgating at her grandson’s Southeastern Lions football games. Her favorite times were spent enjoying family and friends gathering for crawfish boils, taco nights, fireworks fun, birthdays, bluffing us all in Poker or Texas Hold’em, but most importantly Holiday and Christmas celebrations.
Our Lord blessed his child Cora with the joy of being called Sister, Cousin, Aunt, Friend, Wife, Mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma.
Cora is survived by her Children: John Wayne Flowers, Sr., (Debbie); Sheila Ann Flowers-Olps; Frankie Finley (James); and brother Wayne M. Ziegler.
Survived by Grandchildren: John “Johnny” Wayne Flowers, Jr., (Courtney), Michael Holtman (Lindsey), Nichole “Nikki” Flowers, Maddie Flowers and Chloe Sherrod. Great-Grandchildren: Emma Holtman and Everett Holtman, Jolene Flowers and Cadyn Beasley, Mackenzie Bush and Deanna Flowers, and Natalee Finley.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband J. Gordon; beloved son Earl Ray Flowers; siblings Rebecca “Jean” Ziegler Hoffland; John Karl Ziegler and Howard James Ziegler.
The family would like to thank Pinnacle Hospice and her nurses Crystal and Barbara for their loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM.
