In Loving Memory of Cori Michelle Cooper Byrns

September 22, 1987 - June 17, 2026

Cori was our California Girl born in Salinas, CA. She graduated with honors from Baton Rouge Magnet High School. At LSU, Cori received a bachelor's of science degree in microbiology. Cori's employment included a biotechnology startup and various in area hospital laboratory departments. Her last employment was at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. She played multiple musical instruments. We give thanks to Mrs. Pat ONeil, her long term piano teacher, who started Cori on her love for music. As a high school student, Cori was the pianist in a quartet that performed at The Kennedy Center. In addition to Cori's love for music, her love of art came from Grandma's Jo and Bonnie and Granddad Larry. Cori modeled for The Art Guild of Louisiana many years. Cori also created many pencil sketched portraits and paintings. Cori danced with the River Road Performance Society that performed historical dances throughout the state. She is portrayed in one one of Houmas Houses' pamphlets. The group reenacted The Louisiana Purchase followed by a Grand Ball at The Old State Capitol, where Governor Foster and Mrs. Foster participated. Cori loved Jesus and was baptized at Philadelphia Baptist Church on June 7th. She loved her church members. Thanks to Pastor Stuart and the congregation for their love, acceptance and kindness to Cori, Skylar, and Scarlet.
