Curtis Gammill, a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Denham Springs on Saturday, December 6, 2025, surrounded by his girls.
Born February 17, 1952, in Baton Rouge, Curtis made Denham Springs his home in 1989 and never left. For more than 47 years he was happily married to the love of his life, Laura (Pinell). Together they built a big, loud, loving family that was the center of his world.
Curtis spent many dedicated years working at The Advocate, where his steady presence and work ethic was respected by everyone who knew him. He loved LSU, fishing at his camp in Grand Isle and woodworking. He leaves behind his wife, Laura; his daughters, Miranda Brasseaux (Bryan), Rachaelle Koon, Adriane Cunningham (Chris); his sister Vicki Rambin (Delmar); sister-in-law Darlene Gammill; his grand-children, Alexus Countryman (Destin), Quinton May (Hayley), Jett Brasseaux, Reagan Koon, Zara Durocher, Jonah, Corbin, Angelle and Amelia Cunningham, Jacob Angeron and Rose Bird; and his great-grandchildren, Daxton and Tripp Countryman, Jayana Joseph and Hudson May.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents Kathrin and Curtis Gammill; his brother Edward; his sisters Wanda Lee Clay (Austin) and Violetta Dickerson (Lacy); and his precious grandson, Cadin Peppers, who no doubt greeted him with open arms at heaven's gate.
Known for his crazy stories and his quiet strength, Curtis will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the large family he cherished.
