Dakota Briane "Sunshine" Carter was born on February 5, 2006, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to her parents Anthony and Patsy Carter, who adored, appreciated, and loved her immensely. She graduated from Walker Senior High School. Class of 2024, where she was a member of the Key Club. She had dreams of becoming a Court Stenographer, Lash Tech, and Makeup Artist. She was a former employee of PJ Coffee House.
Dakota's personality was loving, outspoken, genuine, goofy, and bubbly (unlike no other). She never held a grudge, always sweet with a smiling face. She would request a cash app like nobody business. According to her nieces and nephews she was the BEST Tee Tee ever!!!!
Dakota had a special bond with her sister and brother. Her sister Latravia was her sidekick, with an inseparable bond, while her brother Gregory was her personal bank, enjoyed taking rides with him alone, whether long or short.
Dakota's bond with her mom and dad was even more special. She enjoyed bathroom talks with her mom and would always interrupt mom's TV time, then saying, "Aww mom, I know you want to relax". Dakota and her dad shared a love for good music and peanut butter.
She also shared a special bond with Maria and Jonte, they loved her as a little sister.
On July, 22, 2025, Dakota also affectionately called Sista, Kota, Big Girl, Toota, and Dakota Mota was called home to rest in the bosom of our Heaven Father.
