David Evan Davies

David Evan Davies, 39 of Denham Springs tragically died in a single-car accident on July 31, 2026.

Born in New Orleans on May 11, 1987 to Arthur and Nina Davies he was raised in Lacombe, in St. Tammany Parish, and was a 2006 graduate of Slidell High School.

David was a force in this world. A natural leader and a kind heart who would help a friend or a stranger without hesitation. David moved through life with a presence that left an impression on everyone he encountered. He cared for his family and friends with a deep love that wrapped us all together even if we were physically apart. The love David had for the people in his life was evident in everything he did. Whether it be helping a friend, spending time with his three nieces and nephew who he adored, driving halfway across the country for his brother’s wedding, crafting a chair in his high school carpentry class for his little sister, helping his mom, cooking amazing dishes for everyone to try out on Christmas Eve, or showing his girlfriend Nelly how much he loved her any chance he got, David was there. He showed up, often sporting cargo shorts and sandals, for the people he loved. He cherished his roles as a son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend.

One of six siblings, and the oldest brother, David was admired and looked up to all of his life. Full of energy even from a young age, he was always ready for adventure and could get (almost) anyone to follow him on his escapades - especially his younger brothers. He would frequently round them up while their parents were asleep to sneak into the kitchen for a midnight feast of a family-sized Stouffer’s lasagna, to be enjoyed while watching late night television. He would also lead them in riding bikes throughout their neighborhood and ramping them into the retention pond, and was at the helm of a few pedal go-carts that the brothers and their neighborhood friends played chicken with. David’s sense of adventure and thrill for life led to many fun and cherished memories, as well as a few cuts, bruises, and broken bones along the way, as well as a minor run in with an alligator on a night-time kayaking outing with his brother Evan, but those memories are indicative of David’s joy for life with his family and friends and his spirit of coloring outside the lines. David’s oldest sister was a rule follower, but remembers David being the reason the rules were set in the first place. Bending the rules, though, meant having fun and creating lasting memories with the people he loved most.

He also loved cars from the moment he could hold one. His mom and oldest sister remember a young David lying on the floor, pushing his Hot Wheels cars, watching the wheels roll back and forth until he would fall asleep. This love for cars extended to adulthood, as he loved collecting RC cars and would deck them out with new headlights, wheels, and shocks. He loved designing courses for them and getting everyone involved in racing them together. This love for building, designing, and working with his hands stayed with him from a young age into his adult life and working life.

David was a skilled craftsman who worked first as a plumber, then as a welder, and then as an operator for Pavestone Concrete, making paving blocks. He ultimately worked his way up to become a plant manager for Premier Concrete, where he managed an entire pavestone production. David’s natural leadership qualities, strong work ethic, and attention to detail were noticed by his employers and coworkers and he was a mentor to many.

No life is lived without challenges and hardships, and while David faced many he overcame them all with God’s grace. The only solace in the pain and grief of a young life lost this sudden is knowing that David is with Jesus. This loss is unimaginable and our family is heartbroken. We will miss him every day, but will forever carry him with us through his memory and unwavering love shown to all of us throughout his life.

He is survived by his parents Arthur and Nina Davies of Lacombe, LA; sister Alissa Rocky and husband Nathan of Lacombe, LA; brother Jason Davies and wife Sharleen of Lake Wales, FL; brother Evan Davies and wife Mollie of Lacombe, LA; sister Erin Belgard and husband Andrew of Denham Springs, LA; brother Joshua Davies of Lacombe, LA and fiancé Olivia Bath; and his girlfriend Nelly. As well as his nieces Marjorie Rocky, Lillie Rocky, Eliora Davies, and one nephew Gideon Rocky.

He is predeceased by his mother’s parents Lewis and Lilly Taylor of Sebring, FL; his father’s parents Arthur and Marjorie Davies of Chagrin Falls, OH.

A service for David will be held Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at Redemption Church, 62060 LA-434, Lacombe, LA 70445. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am.
