Listen to Obituary

David Eugene Moore, 64 , departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1961. He was the heart of the family – the glue that held everyone together and someone that always put his family first. He was the one who brought everyone together, offering wisdom, whether welcomed or not, and unconditional love. His presence created a sense of home wherever he was. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, uncle and mentor. He had an opinion about everything, and if you were in hearing shot you could hear any and all sorts of opinions. Welcome or not, some true, some maybe not true. You could hear his laugh and know he was happy. Hear his voice from a parking lot away and know who he was. He was an operator by trade. He knew he wanted to be an operator by the time he was fourteen.

He always said he would leave the hard work for others. He worked with his dad in his younger years. Tried to quit him a few times, but Daddy told him “He ain’t never had his ass whipped like it was going to be whipped if he walked off the job.” It took him a long time to get over the fact that his dad went home to be with the Lord. Then he got sick and as much as he wanted to be here for his wife and children, he finally understood why daddy was okay with dying. He suffered these last couple years, but all the pain and suffering is over and his new body feels good, fits perfectly and is filled out again.

David is survived by his first wife, Vickie Moore and present wife, Robin Moore; his five children, Brandon Ortego, Peggy Guhn (Bubba), Joseph “Todd” Truax (Emily), Jessica Moore Jones (Lance), and Kenneth Flores (Christina). He also leaves eight grandchildren and one in the oven. Three brothers LE Moore Jr, Dennis Moore (Lisa) and Jeffery Moore (Laurie); a stepbrother, Bruce Starkey and a stepsister, Judy Terrell (George) that always got in trouble every time David and Dennis did. He did not look upon her as anything but his sister. An honorary sister, Maudie Allen (Jack) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lafayette Elliot Moore Sr; his mother, Margie Yvonne Hull Moore; a stepmother, Mary Lou Moore; an honorary mom, Mama Allie Lee Turner (Marian); a brother Larry “Wayne” Moore; astepbrother, Horace Ray Starkey; three honorary sisters, Lana, Diane and Pauline and one honorary brother Jerry Turner.
