Listen to Obituary

David Ruben Clark Rodriguez, born in Jackson, Mississippi and a resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 27.

David was a proud graduate of Walker High School’s Class of 2018, he went on to work as a metal building erector, a role in which he took great pride. He was proud of his work and carried himself with purpose, always striving to do his best.

David was well known as being radiant and kind, someone who never met a stranger and had a natural way of making people smile. He was very genuine and generous, the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back—and has. He was extremely family-oriented, a devoted father and husband, and a God-fearing man who cared deeply for the people around him. David was proud of who he was, especially being the whitest Mexican he knew, and took care of himself with great pride. He brought such positive energy wherever he went, and was often the life of the party. He was also fluent in ASL, a reflection of the way he connected with others with openness and heart.

Outside of work, David found joy in many interests. He loved reading Manga, playing video games, skateboarding, working out, boxing, and watching WWE wrestling. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family, who were the center of his life.

David’s memory will live on in the smiles he created, the generosity he showed, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives were brightened by his presence.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Savannah Rodriguez; son, River Rodriguez; mother, Yolanda Rodriguez Byrd; siblings, Robert Rodriguez and Marguerite Byrd(Solomon); his 100 years old grandmother, Hortense Rodriguez, and grandparents, Felix and Dorothy Rodriguez; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by his beloved fur-babies, Merlin, Luna, Hazel and BB.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Preston Byrd; unborn child, Taco Rodriguez; as well as grandparents, John Monroe and Dorothy Byrd, Junior and Kathy Whitley.
