Davie Lee Courtney

Davie Lee Courtney, Age 71, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 surrounded by his family after a long battle with aspiration pneumonia complications.

Davie was born on March 27, 1955 to Bernice Edra Truax Lott and F.E. Courtney.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Edra Truax Lott, his father, F.E. Courtney; sister, Jackie Courtney and nephew Kevin Dale Housley.

He is survived by his step-father, Earl Lott; sister, Betty Courtney Housley (husband Johnny); nephews, Kenny Housley (wife Gail), Ricky Rhodus, Casey Rhodus (wife Carol); nieces, Stefani Bendily (husband Wade), and Amie Hutchinson (husband Cameron). His great-nephews and nieces that he adored, Clay Bendily (wife Aislyn), Wes Bendily, Kevin Housley (wife Libby), Cole Hudspeth, Ashle’ Hudspeth and Harley Kelly (husband Jerrid), John Michael Hutchinson and Andrew Hutchinson.

To know Dave was to love him. He was known far and wife and brought light, love and laughter to every room he entered. He loved spending time with his family and friends and welcomed every opportunity to listen to old country music and sing. His infectious laugh and sweet personality will not soon be forgotten. He taught us that different does not mean less. And although he faced many challenges, he taught us the most important thing in life, which is love.

Services will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Livingston (20335 Texas Street Livingston, LA 70754) on Thursday, April 30, 2026 with visitation from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM and service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will Immediately follow at Earl Lott Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Clay Bendily, Wes Bendily, Kevin Housley, Curtis Lamonica, Andrew Anthony, and Marvin Housley. Honorary pallbearers will be James Casey Rhodus, Ricky Rhodus, Aislyn Bendily, Justin Bond, Colt Fairburn and Henry Lamonica.
