Dawn Atkins

Dawn Atkins passed at the age of 70 on June 19, 2025. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 17, 1954 to her parents Cecil and Aline Stockwell. Dawn graduated highschool and enjoyed spending her time watercolor painting, playing games with her grandchildren, cooking, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by those that had the joy to know and love her.

She is survived by her daughters Natalie Gouzy (George Gouzy) and Kimberly Flowers (Austin Flowers), grandchildren Kevin Atkins-Rodiles, Katie Hanks, Hudson Flowers, and Lucy Flowers, brothers C.L. Stockwell (Doris Stockwell) and Barry Stockwell (Donna Stockwell), and nieces Jessica Buhler, Ashley Nix, Sadie Stockwell, Emily Stockwell, and Rachel Bourg.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil L. Stockwell and Aline Stockwell, daughter Melissa Hanks, and grandson Rory Craft.

Dawn faced life’s challenges with extraordinary courage and an unbreakable spirit, inspiring everyone who knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at The Flower’s Residence on August 2, 2025 from 10am to 12pm.
