Delba “Debbie” Geline Smith

Delba “Debbie” Geline Smith, 65, of Albany, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025. Debbie was a devoted member of her church and was always involved in ministry through her singing and playing the piano. She loved to be around nature and enjoying God’s creations including birds, flowers, gardening and really all of his animals. She also enjoyed working with art. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ashton Blade Coates; parents, Amos Lee and Rosemary Smith; brother, William Paul Smith; and nephew, Delvin Glascock.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Buffy Dapprich and wife, Amanda; son, Dustin Coates; grandchildren, Devon Tyler, Hannah Sebastion and husband, Colton, and Blake Coates; great-granchildren, Emma Rose, Roman Nicoli, Devon Tyler Jr, Snow Cypress, and one on the way; sister, Nelda Glascock and husband, Wiley; brother, Amos Lee Smith and wife, Wilma Dean; nieces and nephews, Amy, Angela, Jade, Sherman, Austin, and Wade.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Serenity Baptist Church Cemetery, Tickfaw, LA.
