It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dewey Wayne Andrews, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, who peacefully left this world on September 6, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Pineville, Louisiana, Wayne made his home in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, where he built a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born on April 14, 1947, Wayne was the embodiment of a life well-lived. He exemplified joy, creativity, and service. Known for his warm smile, quick wit, and a heart as big as the Louisiana sky, he brought light to everyone he met. A man of extraordinary talent, Wayne found his passion in art, spending countless hours creating beautiful landscapes and heartfelt portraits that became cherished gifts for his family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a man who lived his faith through acts of love and generosity.

Wayne’s greatest joy and purpose in life was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Dianne, who was the love of his life; his loving daughters, Donna Knight and Michelle Bonnell (Danny); and his treasured grandchildren, Morgan Doffee, Cory Smith, Collin Trahan (Bailey), Cacie Smith, and Larkin Crenshaw (Anthony), who lovingly called him “Pawpaw Wayne.” He also leaves behind his brother, Glynn Andrews (Kay); six great-grandchildren, Rylee, Benjamin, Dewey, Garrison, Creed, and Emersyn; and a large circle of extended family and dear friends who were blessed to know him. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Adis Andrews, and his brother, Kenneth Andrews.

Wayne will forever be remembered for his boundless generosity, his love of art, and his unconditional support of his family. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family, and his legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on September 20, 2025 at his home in Greenwell Springs with a wake starting at 2:00pm and the service starting at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the HunterSeven Foundation in Wayne’s name. This foundation is dedicated to honoring military veterans by prioritizing early cancer detection and prevention. Through medical research, education on toxic exposures and related illnesses, accessible cancer screenings, and comprehensive support for veterans and their families, the foundation makes a meaningful impact in the lives of veterans exposed to toxins during their military careers.

Though Wayne’s earthly journey ended, his spirit will forever live on the laughter of his family, the beauty of a painted canvas, and the warmth of every family gathering. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing he is now painting the skies with the same gentle hand and loving heart that touched so many lives.
