Diane “Dee” Adams, resident of Denham Springs, passed at the age of 69 on March 12, 2026. She was born in Centreville, Mississippi to her parents Lamottis and Dora Dawson on September 3, 1956. Dee was the visionary founder of Forrest Grove Plantation, where she spent over 20 years pouring her heart into hosting weddings and special events, touching the lives of countless families and leaving a lasting legacy of hospitality and celebration. This love carried over into her personal life as well, as she was happiest when cooking and spending time with her family and close friends. She will be deeply missed by the many people lucky to have known and loved her, and her care will continue on in those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Gregory Adams, son Troy Joseph Adams (LaAnn), daughter Shelley Fontenot (Joe), grandchildren Cierra Adams (Lee Prine), Layton Fontenot (Claire-Chapin), Alayna Adams, Blair Fontenot (Jakob Adams), Landon Adams, and T.J. Briley (BreAnna Altazin), great-grandchildren Beau and Sadie Prine, Indie Briley, and Rhett-Chapin Fontenot due in September, sisters Mamie James, Annette Rome (Wade), and Bessie Kirkland (Perry), brother Jr. Dawson (Belinda), numerous nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Gloria Adams, sister-in-law Trudy Matthews (Gary), and the many who knew her as “Nana.”
She is preceded in passing by her parents Lamottis Walter Dawson and Dora Lee Whittington Wilkinson, and father-in-law Robert Joseph Adams, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Layton Fontenot, Landon Adams, T.J. Briley, Lee Prine, Jakob Adams, and Chad Andres.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to M.D. Anderson.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on the HVCU unit at Our Lady of the Lake Baton Rouge for their compassionate care during a difficult time.
