Donald G. Burgess

Donald G. Burgess, aged 83, peacefully passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was an alumnus of Walker High School and Louisiana State University. Mr. Burgess dedicated 35 years to LaDOTD before retiring and served as the former Livingston Parish Planning Director. Additionally, he was a member of the Krewe of Denham Springs. Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. His interests included hunting, supporting LSU sports, and active community participation.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph W. and Lois B. Burgess; his brother, Ralph W. Burgess, Jr.; and his sister, Virginia B. Jones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty F. Burgess; his son, Ralph D. Burgess; his daughter-in-law, Melisa G. Burgess; his grandchildren, Samantha and Noah Burgess; and his great-granddaughter, Jaylen N. Burgess.

A wake will take place at the First Baptist Church of Denham Springs on May 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., while the visitation will be held on May 6, 2025, from noon until the service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.
