Donna Kemp Bernard, 62, of Walker, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, on March 6, 1963, Donna graduated from Denham Springs High School in 1981. That same year, she married her beloved husband, Mark Anthony Bernard. Donna began her career working in retail and later at Metro Press Clipping Services before dedicating herself fully to raising her children and, in time, caring for her parents.
Donna was a strong woman whose resilience and devotion defined her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers (especially her cherished zinnias), cutting grass, listening to live music, and exploring antique and thrift shops. Donna and her husband Mark would regularly go on road trips visiting state parks, the mountains, the beach, and visiting friends. You’d regularly find her bundled up next to the fire drinking coffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Janet Kemp; her husband, Mark Anthony Bernard; and her son, Nicholas Alfred Kemp Bernard. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Allen, and her husband, Bryan; her sisters, Janet Benton (Butch) and Barbara Dugan (Ed); daughter in law Lauren Bernard; her treasured grandchildren, Remy Allen, Hunter Bernard, and Evangeline Allen; and numerous other relatives alongside lifelong friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
