Dorothy Mary Hernandez

Dorothy Mary “Dot” Hernandez (83) passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. on September 13, 2025 after a brief illness.

She was born on April 30, 1942 in Louisa, La. to parents, George and Marjorie Boudreaux . Proceeded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bob Hernandez, both her parents, herbrother, Mike Kullman and stepdaughter, Shawn Hernandez.

Dot is survived by her four sisters, Pat Bergeron, MargaretBattaglia, Barbara Flowers and Spring White, her three sons, Rick, John and Russ Ladnier, daughters-in-law, Trish and Matilde. Three step-children, Bambi, Mark and Brian Hernandez; seven grandchildren, Jaden Stafford, BaylorLadnier, DeLaney Ladnier, Luisa Barron, Rich Ladnier, Donald and Derek MacLaren. Three great-grandchildren, Lauren MacLaren, Logan MacLaren and Amanda Wu. Three great-great-grandchildren, Aurora MacLaren, Ezra and Theo Wu andmany nieces and nephews.

Dot was a retired bookkeeper, tax preparer and still did part-time work in that field. She was a fan of LSU sports and Hallmark movies. She was also an avid reader and puzzle solver.

She loved the Church and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and that love flowed through everything she did and was felt by everyone she knew. If you knew Dot, you loved her and we always knew she loved us. She always strived to live a joyful life of love, sacrifice and service to both her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
