Thomas Wayne White, 90 years old, passed peacefully at his home in Baton Rouge into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born in Princeton, Kentucky, the son of Lester and Georgie White. He attended Butler High School, The University of Kentucky, and obtained his doctorate in Animal Science at the University of Missouri. He worked for Louisiana State University for 50 years as a ruminant nutritionist researcher, spending the first part of his career at LSU working in Crowley, Louisiana at the Rice Experiment Station-Beef Unit; and, the remainder of his career in Baton Rouge in the LSU School of Animal Sciences Department.
Wayne was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Baton Rouge and a former member of First Baptist Church Crowley.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandchild. He is survived by the love of his life, Beverly (Nelson) White; 4 daughters, Laura Godfrey (Scott), Dawn Seal (Kevin), Valorie Jolibois (Todd), Marjorie Old (Aaron); 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Seal, Kathryn Schutte(Zach), Jacob Jolibois(Camille), Adam Crnko(Provence), Josie Cato(Ben), Seth Crnko(Hannah), Anna Lingenfelter(Landon); and 6 great grandchildren, Ivy Grave Crnko, Juliette Blythe Cato, Judson Rodney Lingenfelter, Felicity Blair Cato, William Riley Crnko, Avery Elaine Lingenfelter, and one on the way, Evelyn Jolibois due in January 2025.
In his later years, Wayne was known for being an avid gardener and sharing his produce with all his family, friends, and associates. He shared his joy of hunting with several of his grandchildren and made many woodworking keepsakes for his family.
A celebration of life service will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday October 4, 2025 with visitation from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM and service starting at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Princeton Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Princeton, Kentucky. Special thanks to all who cared for his health through the years.
