Earl Wayne proudly served his country as a U.S. Army paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, from 1963 to 1966. A devoted outdoorsman, he was happiest hunting and fishing, but those who knew him best will always remember his remarkable sense of humor that brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone around him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joanne Fuller; and his beloved grandson, Tyler Brasseaux.
Earl Wayne is survived by his sister, Kathleen Dear (Charles), and his brother, Paul Brasseaux (Mary). He leaves behind his children: son John Mincey (Rhonda) of West Plains, MO; daughter Lana Sylvester of Opelousas, LA; son Kirt Brasseaux (Shauna) of Corsicana, TX; daughter Misty Gregory (Mike) of Denham Springs, LA; son Earl Wayne “Spike” Brasseaux Jr. of Denham Springs, LA; daughter Christy Brasseaux of Denham Springs, LA; and daughter Desiree Brasseaux of Denham Springs, LA. He was a proud grandfather to Adam, Christianne, and Madeleine Sylvester; Jerrod, Zachary, Vaughn, and Garrett Brasseaux; Heather, Chandler, and Pyper Sherrod; Spike Brasseaux, Micah Horton, and Cullen Howard. His legacy continues in his five great-grandchildren.
