Eddie Ratcliff

Eddie Ratcliff, a loving husband, daddy, and grandfather passed away July 12, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1945 to his parents Clarence and Agnes Ratcliff in Livingston, where he remained a lifelong resident. Since 1967, he was a pipefitter and a member of the Local 198, retiring after many years of service. He also often talked about his working years and the many people that he met through work. Eddie was happiest when working on a task – working outside, maintaining his yard, and building around his home. In his younger years, he enjoyed sitting on his patio and playing the guitar. He will be dearly missed by the many people that had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Joan Edwards Ratcliff, daughters Beverly Moore (Russell) and Sheila Methvien (Donald), son Tommy Ratcliff Sr., grandchildren Tommy Ratcliff Jr., Eddie Smith, Michael Smith, Ashley Smith, Joni Ratcliff, Zachary Ratcliff, Donald Jason Methvien, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, sisters Barbara Malone (Frank), Virginia Christian (Richard), and Dewanna Christian (Robert), brothers John Ratcliff and Narvel Ratcliff (Donna), sisters-in-law Kathy Edler (Ted), Lydia Hebert (Joey), and Helen Edwards, and brother-in-law Cecil Edwards Jr.

He is preceded in passing by parents Clarence and Agnes Ratcliff, daughter Melissa Ratcliff Smith Lee, grandchildren Sammy Smith, Brian Smith, and Jeremy Methvien, brothers Marwin and Darwin Ratcliff, sister-in-law Almeda Stewart, and brother-in-law Gary Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Edwards Jr., Donald Jason Methvien, Zachary Ratcliff, Eddie Smith, Michael Smith, and Brad Efferson.

There will be a visitation held at Pine Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
