Walker, Edward Theodore “Eddie”
The world lost one of “God’s Special Children” on Saturday, July 12th . His name was Eddie Walker. Eddie enjoyed everything and everybody and he planned and fought to live forever. It seemed like everyone had a special name for Eddie. He was known as “Eddie Teddy, or Eddie Boo, or Eddie Boobootski.” He answered to all of them because he loved his nicknames and he loved those that created them just for him.
At 80 years of age, Eddie still enjoyed working his puzzles, listening to his cds, drawing his pictures and watching his westerns. Eddie was known for the many collections that he had in his room. There were Breyer Horses, John Wayne and Elvis Presley collectibles and 1950’s television character collectibles like Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Eddie had Hundreds of CDs and Comic Books. He selected each of the CD’s and Comics; and, believe it or not, he never selected a duplicate.
Eddie will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the joy and happiness that he brought to all who knew him. Eddie was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Lillian and Ed Walker and his nephew, Edward Walker Herlitz.
Eddie is survived by his Sister and her husband, Betti Helen Walker and Mac Buhler, his Niece and her husband, Elizabeth Lillian Herlitz Cortes and Raul Cortes, Nephew and his wife, Alton and Tammy Buhler, and Cousins Nancy and Lindsey Laird.
Eddie died peacefully at his home. He was laid to rest with his Mother and Father in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in honor of Eddie to The Arc of Baton Rouge, 12616 Jefferson Hwy, BR, 70816
