Elizabeth Jean Vasquez was a vibrant soul who loved deeply, laughed freely, and never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel welcome, cared for, and loved, often without even trying. Giving and compassionate by nature, Elizabeth loved fiercely and without reservation.
She loved to sing and dance, and music was woven into the fabric of her life. Her favorite song, John Denver’s “Poems, Prayers & Promises,” held a special place in her heart. She made it even more special by singing it to each of her children—a memory they will carry with them forever.
Elizabeth especially loved the holidays. To her, a holiday was more than a date on the calendar; it was an excuse to celebrate, gather the people she loved, make memories, and enjoy life. She embraced any reason to celebrate, because she understood something simple and beautiful: life is meant to be lived with joy and shared with others.
Above all, Elizabeth was a mother who loved fiercely. Her family was at the heart of everything she was, and the love she gave them will continue long after her passing. Her warmth, her music, her laughter, and her unmistakable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In death, Elizabeth is reunited with two people who meant so much to her: her grandmother, who raised her, and her beloved daughter, Andrea. We like to imagine that they were waiting for her at Heaven’s gate—and that the three of them are already up there bickering like old times.
Elizabeth Jean Vasquez leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, and memories that will never fade. She lived vibrantly, loved fiercely, and left the world brighter simply by being in it.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely to others—and may there always be a song playing wherever she is.
