Elsie Lee Johnson

Elsie Johnson, 82, passed from this life to her eternal life in Heaven, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family. Elsie was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother (Meme), and her most favorite title, a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church-Denham Springs, LA, where she faithfully served in many capacities. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, and was a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed making clothing for her family and spent many years working in childcare. Her favorite blessing was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Sidney Johnson, daughter Sydney Elaine Braswell (Mickey), son’s Raymond Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson (Monica), sisters Shirley Seal and Elbie Brumfield, brother Paul McCreary, grandchildren Brittany Johnson, Ashlyn Johnson, Cassidy Johnson, Kameron Dinger, Rachel King and Nick Braswell (Stacie).

She is preceded in death by father, Ellis Mitchell Goad; mother, Alice Howard McCreary; daughter Cynthia Renee; sisters Mary Capace, Lafolia Davis, Sadie Worley; brother, Russell Goad, daughter-in-law Marilyn Sue Mauck and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Tuesday, January 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Braswell, Kadence Johnson, Garrett King, Hunter Perryman, Charlie Gregoire, and Mark Givens.

Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren Everett Laudermilk, Declan Laudermilk, Harlan Laudermilk, Saylah Ann King, Maisie King, Jude Perryman, Ella Kate Braswell, Callie Braswell, and Micah Braswell.
