Elwood Norman Courtney, Jr.

Elwood Norman Courtney, Jr. passed at the age of 83 November 15, 2025. He was born in Holden, Louisiana to his parents Raford Lele and Elwood Courtney Sr. After attending LSU for a few years, he worked as a carpenter. Elwood enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He will be deeply missed by those that had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by his wife Sadie R. Courtney, son Norman Wade Courtney, step-daughters Veronica Smith (Kenny Wayne), Robbie Stafford, Glennis Schreiber (Carl), and Sandy Sibley, sisters Janie Alford, Dianna Duke, Margie Neal, and Iris Bankston, brother Larry W. Courtney, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Raford Lee Sally Raney, father Elwood Norman Courtney, Sr., step-mother Hortence Courtney, son Gary W. Courtney, step-son Glenn Stafford, and sister Lea Foster.

There will be a visitation held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 11am to 1pm with a service starting at 1pm. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
