Francis Marion Oglesby

Francis Marion “F.M.” Oglesby, resident of Baton Rouge, passed at the age of 77 on December 3, 2025. He was born in Natchez, Mississippi on December 11, 1947 to his parents Francis Marion Oglesby Sr. and Alice Louise Wallace. He was a graduate of LSU in business and was retired from Exxon Shipping. FM was also a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army for several years, as well as a dedicated member of Zoar Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, and gardening – especially his tomatoes. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all those that had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by his spouse of 55 years Cathy Netherland Oglesby, sister Beverly Louise Oglesby, niece Lindsey Norman Stallings (Brandon), nephew Byron Weston Norman (Elizabeth), great-nieces and nephews Lillian Norman, Wilson Stallings, and James Stallings.

He is preceded in death by his parents F.M. Sr. and Alice Louise Wallace, son Andy Oglesby, sister-in-law Peggy Norman, and brother-in-law Don Norman.

He will be missed, but his family is grateful that he reunited with his son in heaven.

There will be a visitation held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on December 20, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a memorial service starting at 1:00pm.
