Freddie Eugene Horsley

Freddie Eugene Horsley, a resident of New Roads, Louisiana passed away on September 6, 2025. He was born on March 16, 1971. He attended school at Glen Oaks. In his younger times his hobbies and likes were well spent doing what he loved more than life itself and that was the good years spent with Vic, Tammy, Sal, and Clint cruising the roads looking for a good street race. His passion continued to grow towards that continued enjoyment where he loved fast boats and even faster cars. He and Belinda met in 1991 at Brandyville condominiums where she and her small son Jeremy had moved. He fell in love with the little gentleman he saw each afternoon escorting his mom upstairs after her long day at work. Understanding her day was rough he would not let them go another day not going to the swimming pool that was just below their apartment. He soon introduced himself to both of them and before long they started dating. Later on, they decided to move in with each other to see how things would go. They had a happy little boy going to the pool everyday and he and Belinda both had found joy spending time together but the dark days started to show more and more as each day rolled around.

Freddie began working as a young automobile technician which he was highly skilled but often overworked causing a lot of physical wear and tear on his body. He started looking for an easier job with guaranteed wages for every hour on the job. When he was finally hired at M&L Industries, he already knew in less than a week that he surely loved this job and never wanted to switch employers ever again. He became disabled on April 26, 2008 and he started having a rough time adjusting to having to sit-down and chill out for once, which his physical body definitely needed. This brought on depression to Freddie’s life which he struggled with more when he would watch Belinda leave for walk.

Freddie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Belinda Horsley; son, Jeremy Horsley; granddaughter, Lindley Grace Horsley; mother-in-law, Agnes Still; sister-in-law, Fran Byrd (Johnny); brother-in-law, Donald Still (Melissa); niece, Whitney Rose Still, Channing Bain (Ethan), Evelyn Rose, Holly Marie; nephews, Wyatt Bain, Little Johnny Byrd, III. (Kaley), Joseph, Johnny; sister, Julie Ann Merritt (Andy); brothers, Tommy Horsley (Tammatha), Larry Briscoe, Alan Briscoe, Justin Brady (Angela), Victoria Brady (Chris); brother-in-law Eric Knight.

Freddie is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Anne Horsley; father, Tommy William Horsley; Frank Still, Sr., Frank Still, and Daniel Byrd.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."
