Gail Gourgues Engolio

Gail Gourgues Engolio, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. She was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana, on February 9, 1938.

Gail was known affectionately as “Mom” to Suzette Engolio Wallace, “Mamaw” to Wendy Wallace Miller & Jon’edwin Wallace, and “Nonna” to Noah & William Sanders, and Oliver Miller. She was a beloved sister to “Moon” Sidney Gourgues Jr., Lester Paul Gourgues, and “Bee Bee” Lucy Gourgues Burgess.

A fierce fighter for her family, Gail built and owned her own small business and was one heck of a tennis player! She is preceded in death by her grandson Jon’edwin Joseph Wallace; her parents, Sidney and Lucy Gourgues; one sister, Gladys Gourgues Guidry; and one brother, Curtis Gourgues.

Gail will forever be a huge part of the puzzle that patterns our souls. For now, she will hang out with Jon and everyone else who has been waiting for her, until we meet again.
