Gene A. Evans

Gene A. Evans left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday July 3, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born on April 5, 1951 in Brookhaven, MS. He was a native of Metairie, LA and a resident of Walker, LA. He was a State of Louisiana Licensing Health Inspector for over 30 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church where he led worship for over 40 years. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia Callihan Evans, 2 sons and daughter-in- laws Jason and Nikki Evans and Daniel and Heather Evans. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren Raegan, Parker, Carrigan, Isla and Naya Evans. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Joyce Evans, sister-in-law Gayle Evans, and mother-in-law Verna Callihan. 

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Dolph and Janice Evans, brother Kenny Evans, grandparents Prentiss and Eula Evans and Gordy and Minnie McManus, and father-in-law Clinton Callihan, Sr. 

Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on Tuesday, July 8 from 5:30 pm to 8:30pm and resume on Wednesday, July 9 from 9am to 11am with a service starting at 11am. Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, LA. Brother Kevin Malcomb and Chaplain Steve Chadwick will officiate. 

The family would like to thank and offer our appreciation to all the staff at Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice and his very special caregiver Alice Winnfield for the excellent and loving care that they gave our husband and dad.
