G.L. "Buddy" Payne

G.L. “Buddy” Payne, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the age of 77. Born on November 2, 1947, Buddy was a native and resident of Albany, Louisiana. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local Lodge 582 and was member of the First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs. In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed farming, gardening, and riding horses and wagons.

Buddy is survived by his children; Wilburn Payne, Buddy Lamar Payne (Tisha), and Glen Roy Payne (Sue Ellen); grandchildren; Kristopher Payne, Kaci Payne, Maranda Ortego (Darren), Dustin Payne, Zack Payne, Alyssa Payne, Charleston Payne, Laramie Mason Payne, and Marley Payne; brother, Roy Payne; and sisters, Hazel Wilks, Edna Jean Sevario, Elaine Corkern, and Connie Burns.

He is preceded in death by his son, Ransom Payne; parents, Johnny and Elizabeth Payne; brothers, Charlie Payne, Johnny Boy Payne; and sisters, Helen White, Evelyn Erwin, Mary Bendily, Bonnie Cox, and Shirley Meyers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Seale Funeral Home, 20335 Texas St. in Livingston, Louisiana on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow services at Twin Pine Cemetery located off George White Road in Holden, Louisiana. Services will be led by Rev. Malcolm Meyers.
