Glen Allen Dykes, affectionately known by many as the “Louisiana Wildman,” was born on June 10, 1937, in Smithdale, Mississippi, and passed away on October 21, 2026, in Walker, Louisiana.
Glen proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that sense of pride and determination throughout his life. A true outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved camping and, in his younger years, riding ATVs. He was happiest outdoors, whether he was in the woods, near the water, or simply working with his hands.
Glen had an incredible green thumb and could plant just about anything and make it grow. He was equally talented when it came to building and fixing things—there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out or repair. Resourceful, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand, Glen was the kind of man people knew they could count on.
Perhaps one of Glen’s greatest qualities was his ability to connect with people. He truly never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. His outgoing personality, stories, and one-of-a-kind spirit earned him the fitting nickname “Louisiana Wildman.” He lived life in his own unique way and leaves behind many memories for his family and friends to cherish.
Glen is survived by his wife, Wanda Granger Dykes; daughters, Lynn Grant (Jeff), and Lisa Stoltz (Roger); grandchildren, Jaelyn (Adam), Caden (Ali), Carson (Brentanie), Mason (Ali), Drew (Bethany), Jessica (Kyle), and Erin (Gerald); great grandchildren, Isaiah, London, Laken, McKenzie, Spencer, and Bella; and son in law, Ricky McGeehee.
Glen is preceded in death by his first wife Carleen Dykes, his parents, Clover Dykes and Lydia Boutwell Dykes; daughter, Faith McGehee; and his siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S.
