Glenda Marie Venable Hood passed away at the age of 80 on December 26, 2025, at her home in Denham Springs, Louisiana. She was born August 31, 1945 in Greensburg. She was a faithful member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila H. Jenkins (Wendell), Michelle Dobbins (Larry), and Ruby Williams (Mike); her sons, Otto Jay Hood (Normandy) and John A. Hood; grandchildren, Megan Jenkins, Samuel Jenkins, Trevor Hood, and Emma Hood; brothers, Woodrow Venable and Earl Venable (Linda); and brother-in-law, Jerry Arnold.
Glenda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Louis Hood; her parents, Woodrow Venable and Velma Evans Venable; her grandson, Jesse K. Hood; her sister, Barbara Arnold; and her brother, John William Venable.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lanetta Bell for all that she did.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Booty, Frank Fowler, Tyler Smith, Richard Venable, Grant Venable, and Jacob Venable.
Serving as honorary will be Samuel Jenkins.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 11206 Arnold Road, Denham Springs, LA, on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church Missions fund.
