“Let not your hearts be troubled… In my Father’s house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Grace Cecile Thames Watts

December 3, 1942 – November 16, 2025

Grace Cecile Thames Watts entered her Heavenly home on November 16, 2025, surrounded by the deep love of her family. Born and raised in Watson, Louisiana, Grace grew up grounded in faith, family, and a tender heart that welcomed everyone she met.

She was the daughter of Doherty Thames and Winnie Charlotte Ott, and was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Doherty Jr., Sammie Lee, and Willard Thames.

Grace is survived by her brother Brady Thames and her sisters Patsy Jones and Mattie Allen, who will forever hold onto the memories they shared together.

Grace married the love of her life, Earl “Buddy” Watts, Jr. Together, they raised a beautiful family built on loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love. They shared 45 wonderful years of marriage until the Lord called Buddy home on November 10, 2023.

Grace was a devoted mother to Russell Ott (Bridgette), Jason Ott (Jonette), Denise Watts, Jana O’Neal (Freddy), Earl “Dennis” Watts (Tricia).

Her joys multiplied with 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each one treasured deeply in her heart.

Grace drove a school bus for the Livingston Parish School Board for 27 years. She truly loved her job and the children she carried safely each day. Even after retiring, she spoke proudly of her years behind the wheel and the “kids” she never forgot.

Grace loved with her whole heart. She was compassionate, strong, and steady—always ready with a hug, a helping hand, or a laugh that lifted the room. Her spirit was soft yet powerful, and her presence brought comfort to everyone around her.
