Gwendolyn "Gwen" LeBlanc, lovingly known as "Grannie," passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family.
After living in Alabama through high school, Gwen made her home in Plaquemine, Louisiana, where she built a beautiful life rooted in her Catholic faith, family, and service to others before later moving to Baton Rouge. She was known for her kind heart, quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to God. Gwen found her greatest joy in her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whom she cherished throughout her life.
Gwen lovingly dedicated much of her life to caring for children through Miss Gwen's Playschool, where she nurtured generations with patience, kindness, and faith. She also joyfully served her community as a Cub Scout Den Leader and was a proud member of Les Étudiantes, Toujours Gais Dance Club, and the Plaquemine Service League.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Dickie LeBlanc; her children, Rickie LeBlanc, Michael (Dana) LeBlanc, and Angele (Robert) Peek; her ten grandchildren, Henry (Heather) LeBlanc, Mary LeBlanc, William (Chelsea) LeBlanc, Michael (Abby) LeBlanc, Daniel (Meggie) LeBlanc, Nicholas (Taylor) LeBlanc, Kathleen (Philip) Evans, Annie (Jack) France, Robert (Jarea) Peek, Ella Jane Peek, and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and John Henry Williams, and her brother, Billy Williams.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to St. Joseph Hospice, especially Sunnybrook and Ann, for the compassionate care and kindness they shared with Gwen and her family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers and Masses offered in her memory.
