Herbert Earl Aull Sr., affectionately known as “Hots,” a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 89. He attended Louisiana State University, where he proudly played baseball. Following his graduation from LSU, Hots honorably served his country, as a Captain in the United States Army.
After his military service, Hots began his professional career with Gulf States Utilities before later establishing his own Real Estate firm. He went on to become a respected Realtor and Real Estate appraiser, working with the East Baton Rouge Parish Assessor’s Office and local banks.
Hots lived an active and fulfilling life, spending much of his time fishing, hunting, and competing in the Senior Olympics. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge and found great joy in leading Bible studies with family and friends. A gifted vocalist and performer, Hots was frequently invited to sing at many major events in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.
Known for his deep faith, playful personality, and unwavering loyalty, Hots will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his Wife, Jackie Aull; Children, Erin Hawkins and her husband, Bill Hawkins, Zeke Aull and his wife, Joy Aull; Grandchildren, Lee Hawkins and his wife Julie, Zach Hawkins and his wife Lauren, Heather Payne and her husband Jay Payne, Hunter Aull and his wife Courtney, Micah Aull and his wife Rebecca, and Tyler Aull; Great-Grandchildren, Will and Kate Hawkins, Josie and Brayden Romero, Beckham, Ryder, and Nathan Payne, and a great-grand baby on the way, Fisher Aull. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jeanette Aull; brothers, Clarence Aull and Charles Everett; and great grandson, Ezekiel Aull.
A time of Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21st 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church located at 763 North Street Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Family Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
