James Darryl Berryhill

James Darryl Berryhill, born in Ellisville, Mississippi and a resident of Livingston, Louisiana passed away on March 26, 2025 at the age of 82. James was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He made a career as a teacher and taught at New Orleans Academy for many years. He had a profound love for baseball and never missed an opportunity to go to the College World Series. In his free time, James enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. He especially loved any time he got to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by wife, Mary Ratcliff Berryhill; children, Pamela Joy Arrington, Derek Berryhill and Stephanie May; siblings, Mary Lesley, Kaye Washington, and Ray Berryhill; as well as 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents, James A “Billy” Berryhill and Joyce Turner Berryhill as well as son, Grant Steve Brizzard, Jr.

A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Livingston Methodist Church(29725 Poplar Street Livingston, LA 70754) at 10 AM.
