James Lee Boverhof Jr., lovingly known as TJ and “Bumver,” passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 36 in Houma, Louisiana.
TJ was born on February 22, 1989, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and remained deeply rooted in Louisiana throughout his life. He was a kind and gentle man with a true heart for God. His faith guided him, and he found purpose in ministering to others and being a servant to those around him. TJ had a compassionate spirit and touched many lives through his willingness to help, listen, and care.
By trade, TJ was a skilled tile expert, taking pride in his work and the craftsmanship he brought to every job. He was known for working with his hands and building things meant to last — a reflection of the steady and dependable person he was in life.
Known affectionately as TJ or Bumver, he shared strong bonds with family and friends. Those who knew him will remember his faith, his gentle nature, and the love he showed to others. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made will live on.
He is survived by his loving mother, Lula Picard Temple; his sister, Stephania Alexis Seals; his brother, William “Bill” Temple Jr.; his son, Levi Russell; his daughter, Braiyah Swarts; and his son at heart, Easton Swarts, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, James “Jimmy” Boverhof Sr. of Arkansas; his stepfather, William Temple; his maternal grandparents, Gerald C. Picard and Lula D. Picard of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and his paternal grandfather, Jewel Watts of Walker, Louisiana.
His passing leaves a deep void, but his memory will live on through faith, love, and the many lives he influenced through his kindness, service, and love for others.
