James Rhett Lorio

James Rhett Lorio died at his home in Lakeland, LA on June 30, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 69 and born on September 24, 1955 in Baton Rouge, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Rhett enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a self-taught computer whiz and could build anything. Rhett was a very kind and humble man and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Clarence A. Lorio, Jr.

He is survived by his mother Mary Pearl Lorio, 3 sisters and their spouses: Mary Peters (Dr. Stanley “Bubba” Peters), Melinda Collins (Rip Collins), and Anna Prevost (Jay Prevost), and brother Clarence Lorio. He was also survived by his nieces and their spouses: Casey Prevost, Dr. Katie Fetzer (Peyton Fetzer), Sarah Bennett (Daniel Bennett), and his nephews and their spouses: Taylor Collins (Erin Collins), Troy Collins, Dr. Geoffrey Peters (Lori Peters), Christopher Peters (Kimberly Peters), Dr. Ryan Peters (Amanda Peters), and Nick Prevost (Amelia Lacarbo).

He will have a private family service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, LA.
